Delhi is a graveyard of heritage where you’ll find those who once reigned and triumphed buried under tons of earth and mud. Some were worthy enough to have tombs built over their graves while the rest were exposed to the days, nights and ignorance of the human eye. In the words of Meer,

dilli mein aaj bheek bhi milti nahin unhein tha kal talak dimagh jinhein takht-o-taaj ka

Nizamuddin Basti, being one of the oldest inhabited regions of Delhi houses hundreds of named and unnamed, identified and unidentified graves of rulers, emperors, nobles, generals, princes, princesses, poets, sufis and mystics dating as early as the 1300s and being witness to multiple Sultans of Delhi, Sultanates of the Tughlaqs and Khiljis, Mughals, Suris and the later Mughal Empire.

Let us walk and pay homage to those who bear witness to Delhi’s transformations through the passage of time, and are the living interpretations of :
