About the Speaker: Dr. Ankur Barua is a University Senior Lecturer in Hindu Studies at the Faculty of Divinity, University of Cambridge. With a B.Sc. in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and a background in Theology and Religious Studies from Cambridge, his research spans Vedāntic Hindu philosophical theology and Indo-Islamic styles of sociality. He explores Hindu traditions in both premodern and colonial contexts, with a focus on transnational Hindu identities. Dr. Barua’s work also includes historical fiction, such as The Harvest of Time. On his YouTube channel, he introduces Hindu visions accessibly.
